Biography
David P. Bulman, 19, a freshman on the football team in the Salve Regina class of 2002, died in a fire in off-campus housing in January, 1999, in Newport. Bulman, of Easton, Massachusetts, reportedly helped several Salve students escape from the fire, which destroyed the off-campus structure. Several students were hospitalized for injuries.
He was a 1998 graduate of Oliver Ames High School in Easton, where a memorial scholarship established in his memory seeks applicants who are pursuing an education at an institution of higher learning. Special consideration is given to those students who demonstrate a spirit of friendship, and an interest in athletics and environmental conservation.
