Biography
Dr. E. William Burrell earned his Bachelor's from Fordham University (1949), his Master's from Boston University (1959), and his Ed. D. from Harvard University (1964). He began his 31-year career at Salve Regina College in 1965 as Professor of Education and English. In 1970 he was chair of the Education Department. Around this time he also began serving as an administrator, holding a number of titles, including
- Dean of the College, 1974
- Vice President/Dean of Graduate Studies, 1978-1987, 1992 (titled Dean of Graduate School 1978-1982)
- Vice President/Dean of Faculty/Dean of Graduate Studies, 1988-1991
- Dean of Graduate Studies, 1993
- Vice President/Dean of Graduate Studies, 1994-1995
- Vice President for Academic Affairs, 1995-1996
Salve Regina University awarded him an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters in 1996.
