Biography

Dr. Marian Mathison Desrosiers, a two-time Fulbright scholar, teaches history at Salve Regina University in Newport, Rhode Island. Publications include historical biographies on Colonel Mary Agnes Brown of the Women’s Army Corps and Justice Florence Kerins Murray of the Rhode Island Supreme Court. Her books include "The Convergence of Hope: Our Lady of Hope Chapel, a Story of the Hundred-Year History," and "John Banister of Newport: The Life and Accounts of the Colonial Merchant."

She received a B.A. in History from Salve Regina University in 1968, an M.A. in Politics from Tufts University in 1970, and a PhD in Humanities from Salve Regina University in 2004.
