Biography
Son of Ogden Goelet; later owner of Ochre Court; donor of Ochre Court to Salve Regina College in 1947. Cousin of Robert Walton Goelet, his exact contemporary and whom he resembled.
He married Marie Elise Whelen (1880-1959) in 1904, and they had two sons, Ogden Goelet (1907-1969) and Peter Goelet (1911-1986) before their divorce in 1914. From 1919 to 1924 he was married to Donna Fernanda the Princess Riabouchinsky (1885–1982), with whom he had son Robert Wilson Goelet, Jr. (1921-1989). In 1925 he married Roberta Willard (1891-1949), and they had one daughter, Mary Eleanor Goelet (1927-1994).
