Biography
At the time of the Monumenta exhibit in Newport in 1974, William Crimmins, president and principal backer of Monumenta, was a Middletown resident, local schoolmaster, and one of the founders of the Newport Music Festival. He organized the Monumenta exhibit, along with Princeton University Art Historian Sam Hunter.
